10 TIPS for Maintaining your Health

1. Make sure your tests and immunizations are up to date.

2. Do aerobic exercise - enough to raise your heart rate to about (200 minus your age) x 70%. Your goal is at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise per day.

3. Achieve and maintain a healthy body weight.

4. Eat foods low in saturated fat and high in calcium and fiber. Also eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Take a calcium supplement if necessary.

5. Practice safe sex.

6. Do not smoke, and avoid inhaling other's cigarette smoke.

7. Do not drive or let others drive while under the influence of alcohol or mind-altering substances/medications. Observe safety regulations for car airbags, seat belts and car seats.

8. Seek help early for depression, mood changes, or alcohol or drug abuse.

9. Perform regular skin self-examinations. Protect your skin from sun damage with sunscreen and clothing.

10. Find balance in your life between work, school, home and playtime. Include stress-reduction activities in every day.
